The FinTech sector in Malaysia has been rapidly progressing over the past couple of years. In response, FINNOVASIA, Asia’s leading FinTech event, hosted their first ever global FinTech conference in Kuala Lumpur on Mar 20-21, 2017.

The event brought together financial professionals, entrepreneurs, investors, and regulators across the banking, government, and technology sectors to share ideas and collaborate on FinTech’s future in Malaysia. FINNOVASIA Kuala Lumpur also showcased 40 notable speakers from over 20 countries, all authorities on Malaysia’s financial world and/or FinTech practitioners.

Funding Societies Co-Founder Kelvin Teo was one of the speakers invited to FINNOVASIA KL 2017. On March 20, 2017, Teo addressed P2P financing and its role in complementing the traditional banking ecosystem. His talk also included the state of crowdfunding in Malaysia, the differences between banks/financial institutions and P2P financing platforms, and what’s next for crowdfunding in Malaysia.
