At the end of September 2017, Funding Societies (Modalku) won the Global SME Excellence Award during the ITU Telecom World Awards, held this year at Busan, South Korea. The honor makes Funding Societies (Modalku) the first Southeast Asian company to win the award. The Global SME Excellence Award recognizes the most promising and innovative information and communication technology solutions developed by SMEs to deliver social impact. This year, Funding Societies (Modalku) beat hundreds of other applicants to take the prize.
Every year, an international panel of International Telecommunication Union (ITU) judges, comprising global experts, selects the SME that most represents the award. ITU Telecom is United Nations’ neutral and not-for-profit platform, instrumental in bringing technological innovations to global communities.
Creating positive impact for society by supporting underserved SMEs have always been Funding Societies (Modalku)’s key focus areas. We are truly humbled and honored to be recognized by ITU Telecom. Going forward, the award will push our team to continue doing our part in creating financial inclusion in Southeast Asia.
